Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) Frankfurt Skyliners captain MARIUS NOLTE will join the club's management team after the end of the '13-14 season. Nolte will become the club's new head of distribution and sponsorships (Frankfurt Skyliners). ... German media group ProSiebenSat.1 confirmed that Sports Dir PHILIPP GEIS "has left the company." The company "does not intend to replace Geiss." Instead COO ZELJKO KARAJICA and ALEXANDER RÖSNER "will reportedly take over Geiss' duties" (DWDL, 4/28). ... Former U.S. Olympic Committee CEO JIM SCHERR "has resigned" as COO of the inaugural European Games and has been replaced by former British Olympic official SIMON CLEGG. Scherr, who led the organizing effort for the '15 games in Baku for 12 months, said "it is the right time" to return to the U.S. to "spend time with his family and resume his role with a marketing agency he founded.'' Clegg is a former CEO of the British Olympic Association and League Championship side Ipswich (AP, 4/28). ... Rugby World Cup Ltd. appointed Australian Rugby Union Chair MICHAEL HAWKER as RWC board director. Hawker's appointment follows unanimous approval by the Int'l Rugby Board Exec Committee. Hawker sits on the IRB Exec Committee and the IRB's Audit and Risk Committee. He will serve as director until at least the end of the current board mandate in '16 (RWC).
