First Leg Of Champions League Semifinal Between Atlético, Chelsea Draws 8.7 Million

The first leg of the Champions League semifinal match between Atlético Madrid and Chelsea attracted 8.7 million viewers on Spanish broadcaster TVE's La 1, registering a 45.7% market share, according to the EP. The match, which ended in a 0-0 draw, became the most watched Champions League game of the season. A total of 16.2 million viewers "watched at least one minute of the contest, with the audience peaking at 10.9 million" (EP, 4/23).
