League Notes: Badminton Association Of Malaysia To Use Bukit Kiara's Juara Stadium

Plans to find an "isolated venue for the Thomas-Uber Cup Finals squads' centralised camp have been aborted." Instead, the Badminton Association of Malaysia will use the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara as its venue when it begins the centralized program from May 4-13 (THE STAR, 4/21). ... Australian Football League Football Operations Manager Mark Evans has "raised the possibility of players being restricted to certain parts of the ground as a way of combating what the AFL feels is escalating congestion this season." While appearing "set to reject an AFL Players Association request for a change in free agency rules," the AFL will seek feedback from clubs this year on "what Evans has called density issues" (CANBERRA TIMES, 4/21). ... National Rugby League side Melbourne Storm halfback Cooper Cronk has "called on the NRL to work together to fix the rules and interpretations that have cost several sides wins this season." Cronk said that all "rugby league people needed to find solutions and stop blaming referees." The Storm has been involved in "two other controversial matches this season" (THE AGE, 4/21).
