League Notes: Euroleague Basketball's Top 16 Attracts Record Average Crowd Of 8,950

The Euroleague Top 16 was seen by more spectators than ever before thanks to record ticket sales for this phase of the competition. The teams competing in the Top 16 combined to sell nearly 20% more tickets than the corresponding phase last season. The average attendance at a Top 16 game was 8,950 fans this year, a 19.4% increase on '13, when average attendance was 7,492. Combined with the attendance figures from the regular season, ticket sales are up 13.3% per game overall this season (Euroleague). ... India's Central Bureau of Investigation "has set up a Sport Integrity Unit to probe into allegations of sport frauds, including betting and match-fixing" (THE HINDU, 4/15).
