Google Glass Technology To Provide Fans New Perspective At Thursday's Euroleague Clash

Thursday's Euroleague basketball game between Barcelona and Laboral Kutxa was scheduled to become the first European basketball game to generate content using Google Glass technology. As part of a collaboration between Euroleague and the University of La Salle in Barcelona, fans will be able to view the game through the eyes of the players, coaches and referees. Players were to wear the Google Glass devices both before and after the game. The next step in the collaboration will be the use of Google Glass during the Euroleague Final Four, which will be held from May 16-18 in Milan. Euroleague Brand & Communications Dir Alex Ferrer Kristjansson said, "New technologies are providing sports organizations with new opportunities and new ways to communicate with the fans. This partnership with the University of La Salle will allow Euroleague Basketball to explore the possibilities with the Google Glass, experimenting with new tools for basketball professionals and new ways of getting the fans closer to the action and to its stars" (Euroleague).
