Boxing Broadcasts With Satisfying Ratings On ARD; RTL, Sky Score With F1 Grand Prix

German public broadcaster ARD "recorded satisfying ratings with its boxing broadcasts over the weekend," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. A total of 3.24 million viewers tuned in on Saturday night to watch the fight between Jürgen Brähmer and Enzo Maccarinelli. The number translated into a market share of 18.4%. Prior to the Brähmer-Maccarinelli fight, ARD showed the bout between Gheorge Sabau and Tyron Zeuge and obtained a market share of 10.4% as 2.71 million viewers tuned in.

F1 GRAND PRIX: German free-to-air TV channel RTL attracted an average of 5.08 million viewers to its broadcast of the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix on Sunday. The number translated into a market share of 27.5%, including 22.1% in the target demographic 14-49. German pay-TV channel Sky, which also aired the race, obtained a market share of 3.8% in the target demographic as 480,000 viewers tuned in. It was one of Sky's highest viewership numbers for an F1 broadcast (DWDL, 4/7).
