Former national sprinter ASMAH HANIM "has been appointed" the Singapore Athletic Association's sports development and performance chief. Hanim takes over the post from veteran track and field coach LOU CHAN PEW, who was "suspended for four months last month after the association deemed that he had undermined its executive committee" (STRAITS TIMES, 3/12). ... National Rugby League CEO DAVE SMITH and Head of Football TODD GREENBERG "have reaffirmed the game's connection with Touch Football Australia by becoming board members of the organisation." Smith joined former Eels skipper NATHAN HINDMARSH in Coffs Harbour on Wednesday for the launch of the TFA National Touch League Championships, "unveiling the new NRL Touch Football branding" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 3/12). ... The Board of Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management has announced that AL TAREQ AL AMERI has been officially appointed CEO of Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Departing CEO RICHARD CREGAN "will retain an advisory role reporting to the board and will now lead the new F1 Russian Grand Prix." Al Ameri was part of the team that has, in the last five years, "developed the Yas Marina into a community hub for thousands of residents of Abu Dhabi, as well as a venue for significant global gatherings" (GULF NEWS, 3/12).
