Basketball ACT To Choose From Deep List Of Contenders For CEO Role

New Basketball ACT President David Leaney said that "the board faces a pleasant headache in its search for a next chief executive, with high-profile basketball and sports names among the contenders to replace Tony Jackson," according to John Tuxworth of the CANBERRA TIMES. Former Tuggeranong-Southern Cross juniors president and a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Leaney "accepted the role last week and hopes to have Jackson's preferred successor presented to the board on March 25." Basketball ACT "has received about 50 applicants, has settled on an extended list of 12, and hopes to trim to no more than six before conducting interviews." Leaney said that the list "features some household names in basketball as well as other sports, with the successful applicant to be given at least a two-year term" (CANBERRA TIMES, 3/9).
