Sports Betting Provider Tipico Becomes New Title Sponsor Of Austrian Football Bundesliga

Germany-based sports betting provider Tipico "has agreed to become the new title sponsor of the Austrian football Bundesliga," according to KURIER. Tipico "will replace tipp3 as the title sponsor of Austria's top football division in the summer." The Bundesliga revealed at a press conference in Klagenfurt that its deal with Tipico "will run for three years." The league's current deal with Austrian sports betting provider tipp3, which has been the Bundesliga's title sponsor since the '08-09 campaign, "will expire after the season." However, tipp3 "will remain an official partner of the Bundesliga." In addition, the league's deal with mobile service provider T-Mobile "is also set to expire." Therefore the league "will most like change its name from 'tipp3-Bundesliga powered by T-Mobile' to simply 'Tipico Bundesliga.'" Austria's second division, currently called the "Heute für Morgen Erste Liga," is still "without a title sponsor for next season" (KURIER, 3/5).
