Spanish Superior Sports Council President In Negotiations With F1, MotoGP Rights Holders

Spanish Superior Sports Council (CSD) President Miguel Cardenal is negotiating with MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports and Movistar TV "regarding pay-TV broadcasts of MotoGP and F1," according to the EFE. Cardenal explained that he is "seeking a solution that satisfies all parties" and pointed out that "the government has the authority to identify sporting events of general interest to guarantee they are broadcast." Without "specifying the terms of the negotiations, Cardenal explained that he is seeking a way to reach a satisfactory agreement for Spanish sport." For F1, the "possibilities include Antena3 TV and TV3 or Movistar TV's pay-TV channel" (EFE, 2/26).
