Former EPL side Swansea Manager MICHAEL LAUDRUP claims that he "was sacked by email, hours after being told his job was safe and shaking hands" with Chair HUW JENKINS. The Dane admitted that he "had disagreements with Jenkins and said he had to wait nine days before receiving an official letter explaining the decision" (BBC, 2/18). ... UEFA President MICHEL PLATINI arrived in the Albanian capital of Tirana on Wednesday "to give the green light to new Albanian government program on football as a separate subject in schools all around the country" (XINHUA, 2/19). ... Russia men’s hockey coach ZINETULA BILYALETDINOV has said that "he is keen to continue in his job despite the host nation crashing out in the quarterfinals of the Olympics on Wednesday."
