Marketplace Roundup: IRFU Announces Partnership Between Women's Squad, Aon

The Irish Rugby Football Union announced a new three-year jersey partnership between the Ireland Women's squad and Aon. The sponsorship, which is the first of its kind for the Ireland Women's squad, saw the Aon logo displayed on the jersey as Ireland took on Scotland in the first game of their RBS 6 Nations defense at Ashbourne RFC on Friday. Ireland defeated Scotland 59-0 (Irish Rugby). ... The Indonesia Rugby Union (PRUI) "managed to secure a new sponsor to help boost the sport’s development in the country." PRUI signed a one-year deal with Mafro Sports "to supply rugby kit." The men’s national team, known as the Rhinos, "will don the new kit for the first time when it plays in the HSBC Asian 5 Nations Tournament in June" (JAKARTA GLOBE, 2/3). ... Stella Artois has been named the official beer of the 2014 The Open Championship to be held at Royal Liverpool July 13-20. Stella's sponsorship will be supported with above the line, on-pack promotions and digital marketing (The Open Championship). ... Australian Football League Port Adelaide named EnergyAustralia as a joint major sponsor. It is EnergyAustralia's first AFL partnership. The company's logo will appear on the front of Port Adelaide's jerseys and on the front of the jumper worn by the South Australian National Football League Magpies (Port Adelaide). ... KFC announced its sponsorship of New Zealand Super Rugby teams Blues, Chiefs, Hurricanes, Crusaders and Highlanders (FUSEWORKS, 2/3).
