WTA Tournament Class Dir Peter-Michael Reichel Plans To Hold Third Event In Germany

Women's Tennis Association Tournament Class Dir Peter-Michael Reichel said that there will be an additional women's tournament in Germany in the future. In addition to the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart and the Nürnberger Versicherungs Cup in Nuremberg, Reichel thinks there is potential for a third int'l tennis tournament in Germany. Reichel: "We are on the way up. The interest in women's tennis continues to grow. Therefore, we can picture holding another tournament here soon." As possible locations Reichel mentioned Berlin, among others. Reichel: "But we also have had talks with Dusseldorf during previous years." Reichel also believes a third WTA event could lead to a comeback on public broadcasters ARD and ZDF (SPONSORs).
