League Notes: Taiwan, Hungary To Boost Sports Exchanges, Cooperation

Taiwan's Olympic Committee "has signed a partnership agreement with its Hungarian counterpart to strengthen sports exchanges between the two countries, a Taiwanese official said Thursday" (CNA, 12/19). ... Administrators of collapsed horse syndication outfit BC3 Thoroughbreds "will work with racing investigators to establish if fraud was a part of the business’s demise." The administrators will also seek court approval to ask for more time to investigate the horse ownership group’s collapse because of its “complexity and intricacy” (THE AGE, 12/19). ... Athletics Australia is "set to instruct all athletes to adopt a blanket ban on the use of supplements because the controversial products are considered to be of dubious physical benefit while the risks they present are great." The athletics body's integrity and ethics unit "has drafted a policy outlining a push for a sweeping ban on supplements, except in cases such as an athlete requiring iron or vitamins as recommended by a doctor or health specialist" (THE AGE, 12/20).
