The British Red Cross announced the appointment of DAVID BERNSTEIN as chairman of its board of trustees beginning Jan. 1. Bernstein is a former chairman of the FA, Wembley Stadium and Man City. Bernstein replaces CHARLES ALLEN following his recent appointment to the House of Lords (Red Cross). ... Hong Kong Rugby Football Union Chair TREVOR GREGORY "was appointed president" of the Asian Rugby Football Union at the governing body's annual general meeting in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Gregory "will assume the post with immediate effect," replacing outgoing ADISEK HEMYOO, of Thailand, who stepped down after four years in the role (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 12/13). ... EPL West Brom has announced that head coach STEVE CLARKE has been "relieved of his duties and placed on gardening leave." The decision "comes just hours after Saturday's 1-0 loss at Cardiff City that extended the side's run without a Premier League win to six matches" (ESPN, 12/14).
