ManU's Wayne Rooney Tops English Premier League's Richest Footballers List

A Wealth-X top 10 list revealed that ManU and England forward Wayne Rooney is the wealthiest English-born footballer in the EPL with an estimated net worth of £45M ($73M). Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and Ashley Young also made the list for "The Red Devils," bringing the combined net worth of these four teammates to £111M ($182M). At 35, Ferdinand and Frank Lampard from Chelsea are the oldest players on the list. The youngest is Man City midfielder James Milner, who is 27. Rooney earns approximately £250,000 ($410,000) a week before taxes on his current contract, and also rakes in money from endorsement deals with companies including Nike and book publisher HarperCollins.
