UFC heavyweight fighter SHANE DEL ROSARIO "has died after suffering full cardiac arrest nearly two weeks ago" (LA AFICION, 12/10). ... ALFONSO LÓPEZ "will not be the next executive president" of the Spanish Basketball League (ACB) after withdrawing from the election process with a tweet. López explained that he is "resigning due to an error related to his Twitter acount." Italian Judo President MATTEO PELLICONE died on Monday after a long illness. The president of Italian Federation FIJLKAM was 78 years old. Under his guidance, Italian Judo had numerous successes, and he celebrated various medals at the Olympic Games: two Gold Medals for GIUSEPPE MADDALONI and GIULIA QUINTAVALLE, three Silver Medals and seven Bronze Medals (European Judo Union). ... J.League side Yokohama F. Marinos midfielder SHUNSUKE NAKAMURA "was named J.League Player of the Year on Tuesday." Nakamura scored 10 goals in 33 league appearances this season, missing only one game -- a 2-1 defeat to Nagoya Grampus -- "while suffering from a gallbladder inflammation."
