Austrian Football Bundesliga Rejects Title Sponsorship Offer From Bookmaker

The Austrian football Bundesliga on Thursday "turned down an offer from an unnamed bookmaker to become the title sponsor of the country's top two football leagues," according to the KURIER. Bundesliga President Hans Rinner said that the "rejection is based on financial reasons." Rinner: "The financial framework of the offer doesn't meet the expectations of the clubs." Rinner added that the bookmaker has "an excellent reputation." He said that the league "will conduct a detailed evaluation of the offer." In addition, Rinner was re-elected on Friday "to serve another four-year term as president of the Bundesliga" (KURIER, 12/6).
