Former J.League side Gamba Osaka Manager AKIRA NISHINO will succeed DRAGAN STOJKOVIC as manager of Nagoya Grampus next season. Nishino’s deal "is expected to be for one year and will be announced in the coming days." Nishino is the J. League’s "most successful coach of all time" with 244 victories in the top flight (KYODO, 12/8). ... Former New Zealand cricketer DARYL TUFFEY has confirmed he is assisting the Int'l Cricket Council in "an investigation into match-fixing -- and Chris Cairns has reiterated his innocence." Tuffey initially said that "he was in the dark and shocked by the allegations of his involvement." He "released a statement through his lawyers at the weekend about the investigation" (NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 12/9). ... K League Classic club Ulsan Hyundai named former national team defender JO MIN-GOOK as its new head coach. Financial terms of the deal "were not disclosed." Jo replaces KIM HO-GON, "who stepped down on Wednesday" (YONHAP NEWS, 12/6). ... British PM DAVID CAMERON has presented Chinese President XI JINPING "with a football jersey signed by players from the England national team, aware that Xi is known to be a big fan of the sport." It is estimated that the football market in East Asia generates £200M ($327M) a year (WANT CHINA TIMES, 12/6). ... ManU Manager DAVID MOYES "has become embroiled in a controversy" over remarks that he is alleged to have made about supporters of his former club Everton. An Everton follower who met Moyes in the Lowry Hotel in Manchester ­following the match "tweeted remarks by the United manager in which he allegedly called the hostility shown to him by the travelling supporters 'a f------ disgrace.'" A ManU spokesperson confirmed that Moyes "had met the fan, and the pair had had their photograph taken together, but said the manager robustly denies having used the alleged phrase" (London TELEGRAPH, 12/6).
