German Ski Association President ALFONS HÖRMANN "was elected" as the new president of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) during the general assembly in Wiesbaden, Germany on Saturday. Hörmann earned 434 of 459 votes "to become the successor" of former DOSB President THOMAS BACH (XINHUA, 12/7). ... Argentine first division side Argentinos Juniors coach RICARDO CARUSO LOMBARDI "announced his decision to resign from the position after his team's loss to league rival Rosario Central on Saturday." Club execs "nevertheless asked Caruso to take a few days to reconsider his decision" (CLARIN, 12/7). ... Liga MX side Tijuana has hired CÉSAR FARÍAS as its new coach. Farías said, "I already feel at home, not just because of the affection that I have received, but also because everything is in place for us to succeed" (LA AFICION, 12/7). ... League Championship Wigan Athletic appointed former Man City and East Germany striker UWE RÖSLER as manager of the Championship club on Saturday. Rösler, 45, joins from League One Brentford after compensation was agreed and replaces OWEN COYLE, who left Wigan less than six months after taking over from Spaniard ROBERTO MARTINEZ (REUTERS, 12/7).
