IOC President Thomas Bach Wants More Air Time, TV Network For Olympic Sports

IOC President Thomas Bach said on Wednesday that "most Olympic sports do not get enough television coverage outside the four-yearly Games and need more air time," according to Brian Homewood of REUTERS. Bach also suggested that the IOC could set up its own TV network "to counter the lack of coverage on existing channels." Bach said, "The Olympic Sports do not have enough coverage and the Olympic sports need to be promoted also in the time between games. One of the solutions could be such a television network and we will discuss this idea in the Executive board. I never said I would have the project ready and the finances in the pocket. What I said is that this is a vision and that I wanted us to explore the viability of this vision" (REUTERS, 12/5).
