Olympic Notes: WADA Director General Says 'No Reason' To Doubt Moscow Testing Lab

The World Anti-Doping Agency "expects the Russian laboratory assigned to test samples at the Sochi Olympics to meet Sunday's deadline for improving its operations." WADA Dir General David Howman said on Friday that he was "awaiting the paperwork from the Moscow lab." Howman: "I have no reason to have any concern about it" (AP, 12/2). ... Lithuania President Dalia Grybauskaite on Monday granted citizenship to U.S. ice dancer Isabella Tobias, "allowing her to compete in the 2014 Sochi Olympics with her partner from the Baltic state." The decision "marked a turnaround" for Grybauskaite, who first "rejected the citizenship request in January on grounds that Tobias had failed to meet the strict requirements" (AFP, 12/2).
