Media Notes: Canal+ Features Barcelona Photographer's Routine During Granada Match

FC Barcelona photographer Miguel Ruiz was featured on Canal+'s "El Día Después" ("The Day After") in an "interesting report" on Monday that was shot during Saturday's game between Barcelona and Granada. The "special showed Ruiz's gameday routine, from players' arrival at the stadium until after the game" (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 11/24). ... BT Sport "will be airing events" from the Glory World Series kickboxing league starting with Saturday night's Glory 12 New York. Glory recently signed a deal with Spike TV in the U.S., "and this weekend's event airs live on that network as well" (FIGHTERS ONLY MAG, 11/22). ... ManU striker Wayne Rooney has criticized TV commentator Martin Tyler as well as pundit Graeme Souness in the wake of the 2-2 draw with Cardiff City, "in which the striker escaped a red card for kicking out at Jordon Mutch early in the first half." Tweeting after the game on Sunday night, Rooney said, "Just watched game back. I agree mine was bad tackle and ref dealt with it. And Martin Tyler didn't shut up about it all game. Then someone (Gary Medel) slaps someone (Marouane Fellaini) in face and he doesn't speak a word about it. I like Martin but that's poor from him" (London INDEPENDENT, 11/25). ... Channel Nine apologized to Michael Clarke on Monday night after the Australian captain was charged and fined by the Int'l Cricket Council for a verbal tirade at England tailender James Anderson "that was picked up by the broadcaster's stump microphone and aired to millions of viewers" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 11/25). ... Football fans in the UAE "were furious" after they were unable to watch four live EPL matches scheduled to broadcast on Saturday. Regional broadcaster Al Jazeera Sport "has the rights to cover all Premier League matches," but only showed the early match between Everton and Liverpool, a 3pm U.K. time clash, Arsenal and Southampton, and the late game between West Ham and Chelsea. There "was no indication on the Al Jazeera Sport website as to why the service had been changed." The company claimed that "it was not responsible for the reduced service" (THE NATIONAL, 11/24).
