Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club TBB Trier has appointed SEBASTIAN MERTEN as its managing director. Merten previously worked for Luxembourg-based marketing agency Pyramid Sports Marketing SE, where he was in charge of marketing and sales for TBB Trier. In addition, the club's PA announcer and livestream presenter CHRIS SCHMIDT join Pyramid Sports Marketing in the areas of sales, marketing and public relations (TBB Trier). ... Scottish Professional Football League side Hibernian on Tuesday confirmed that HARRY BUTCHER has been appointed as manager, signing a three-year deal. Former Scotland int'l MAURICE MAL has also joined the club as Butcher's assistant, "continuing the role he played at Inverness" (SCOTSMAN, 11/12). ... Serie A Chievo Verona has "confirmed the dismissal" of Manager GUISEPPE SANNINO "despite holding Milan to a goalless draw on the weekend" (REUTERS, 11/12). ... General Secretary of the Turks and Caicos Islands FA SONIA BIEN-AIME, “has been appointed a member of the CONCACAF Executive Committee.” Bien-Aime “is also one of three women on FIFA’s Executive Committee”-- joining LYDIA NSEKERA, who was a co-opted member before being voted to the full 25-person committee at the same Congress, and Australia’s MOYA DODD. In addition to her new post, Bien-Aime “is also a member of the Women’s Technical Committee and Deputy Chairwoman of the Women's Championship Committee at CONCACAF” (TURKS & CAICOS SUN, 11/12). … ULRICH FRITZ has joined HWA Mercedes' board of directors "as the DTM giants undergo a management reshuffle ahead of the 2014 season." Fritz, who has been part of the Mercedes family for over a decade, "will mainly oversee the team's commercial operations and management structure" as of Dec. 1 (CRASH, 11/11). ... SAP AG announced German national team Manager OLIVER BIERHOFF as a brand ambassador for the company. Bierhoff will collaborate with SAP on further enhancing solutions that bring analytics and insight to professional sports clubs, coaches, players and fans (SAP).
