German 3rd League Football Club Regensburg Could Pay Up To $668K In Stadium Rent

German 3rd League football club SSV Jahn Regensburg Exec Chair Christian Schlegl "has revealed how much rent the club has to pay for playing in the new stadium," according to the MITTELBAYERISCHE. In preliminary negotiations, city and club "talked about league independent rent conditions." According to those negotiations, in the 3rd League the club "would have only to pay operating costs and a symbolic rent," which would translate into an amount between €80,000-€100,000 ($107,000-$134,000). Should the team play in the 2nd Bundesliga, however, it "would have to pay operating costs and interest repayment," which could amount to a maximum of €500,000 ($668,000). The construction for the new 15,000-seat stadium "is scheduled for spring, and the expected completion date is set for June '15" (MITTELBAYERISCHE, 11/7).
