Women's Squash Association Says There Will Not Be Women's World Open In '13

The Women's Squash Association said that "there will be no Women’s World Open squash championships this year," according to Kng Zheng Guan of THE STAR. A "last minute push to have Egypt organise the world meet in mid-December has fallen through" and as such the WSA "has finally run out of options." The WSA "sent an email to their tour players on Friday night stating their regret at being unable to organise a world meet this year." The WSA, however, "proposed to hold a world meet next March" for the calendar year of 2013, before having another world meet for '14 later in the year. This is "the first time since 1991 that there is no world meet for the women" (THE STAR, 11/9).
