Marketplace Roundup: HBL, Lufthansa Fail To Agree On Partnership Extension

The Handball Bundesliga (HBL) and Lufhansa airline have announced that they will not continue their partnership deal surrounding the DHB-Pokal (German Cup) Final 4 event. After six years, the two parties were unable to agree on an extension of their collaboration (HBL). ... Window and door manufacturer Aldra, which is an exclusive partner of Bundesliga club FSV Mainz, has launched a limited edition FSV Mainz exterior door in celebration of its 125th anniversary. The door, which features the club's crest, will be available in three versions, right wing, center and left wing, and will cost between €3,400-€3,900 ($4,680-$5,370) (FSV Mainz). ... Abu Dhabi Racing partnered with National Health Insurance Company Daman "to establish a driving academy to groom young Emiratis as professional racing drivers." The "first batch of the seven young UAE aspirants selected on the basis of their go-karting skills for the Daman Speed Academy" will begin an eight-month training program at Yas Marina Circuit immediately after this weekend’s F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (GULF NEWS, 10/30). ... China's CITIC Construction company "has signed an agreement with the Angolan Table Tennis Association to sponsor the development of the sport in the African country" (XINHUA, 10/30). ... Virgin Australia announced that it will become a co-major partner of Australian Football League side Greater Western Sydney for the next five years. Under the agreement, the Virgin Australia logo will be displayed on the front of the Giants' jumper for home matches in Western Sydney and Canberra and on the back of the jumper for away matches. Virgin Australia signage will also feature prominently at home games and the two organizations will work closely together to share digital content with fans and customers (Virgin Australia).
