Rory McIlroy Leaves Horizon Sports Management, Set To Launch Rory McIlroy Inc.

Rory McIlroy said that he has "set up his own company to run his business interests" after terminating his contract with Dublin-based Horizon Sports Management, according to Keith Weir of REUTERS. McIlroy and Horizon "have called in lawyers to try to settle details of an acrimonious split which comes only two years after they began working together." McIlroy's new company, Rory McIlroy Inc. (RMI), will be "headed by Donal Casey, an actuary who was already an adviser to the golfer." McIlroy's father, Gerry, "will also be on the board of the company, with businessmen and family friend Barry Funston." Neither side "gave details of the reason for McIlroy's departure" (REUTERS, 9/27).
