The Mexican national football team has hired VÍCTOR MANUEL VUCETICH to replace LUIS FERNANDO TENA as head coach. Tena coached just one match "as interim manager," which Mexico lost to the U.S. 2-0 Tuesday night. Vucetich is "best known for his recent tenure with Liga MX Monterrey," where he coached from '09-13 (RECORD, 9/11). ... League One Bristol City has appointed Managing Dir JON LANSDOWN to become the club's vice-chairman. He will be assisting current Chair KEITH DAWE. The club's four-man board is completed by new CEO DOUG HARMAN and recently appointed Non-Exec Dir ERNIE ARATHOON (Bristol City). ... Former int'l cricket players RICHARD HADLEE, MARTIN SNEDDEN and GEOFF ALLOTT "are set to return to New Zealand Cricket as part of a revamped board of directors." All three "have played prominent roles at NZC." Hadlee "was chairman of selectors until 2008," Snedden was CEO from '01-07 and Allott GM from '08-10. Snedden "appeals as the likely successor" to outgoing Chair CHRIS MOLLER, "given his background" (FAIRFAX NZ NEWS, 9/12).
