Salford Red Devils Owner Marwan Koukash Wants To Buy League One Oldham Athletic

Super League side Salford Red Devils Owner Marwan Koukash has revealed that he not only remains interested in taking over League One side Oldham Athletic -- "but that he has also set his sights on adding Championship One Roughyeds to his portfolio and wants to build a new stadium in Oldham for the pair," according to Mike Keegan of the MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS. Koukash said, "I am interested in both clubs. I am in discussions with people who are connected." Currently Latics play at three-sided Boundary Park, "although work is expected to start shortly on a new stand." Koukash: "I want to create a destination in Oldham. I want to buy the football club and the rugby club and build not only a stadium for both but leisure facilities for the community" (MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS, 9/12).
