J.League division 1 Omiya Ardija President SHIGERU SUZUKI named Technical Dir and former Japan national team assistant TSUTOMU OGURA as the club's new manager. Omiya, "despite being fourth in J1 only six points off the pace," sacked coach ZDENKO VERDENIK on Sunday. NOTABLE DEATHS: Former French footballer and Ligue 1 Nantes coach JEAN VINCENT has died at the age of 82. Nantes called Vincent a "true legend of Nantes and French football" on its club website (EFE, 8/13). ... Former Australian captain BOB BIGNALL has died at age 91. Bignall played eight matches for Australia during the mid-'50s, captaining the side at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics (AAP, 8/12).
