League Notes: F1 Champion Stewart Says India Will Suffer For Canceling 2014 Grand Prix

Three-time F1 champion Jackie Stewart believes that "India will suffer from not having a grand prix in 2014." Stewart: "It is certainly not a good message the Indian Grand Prix is sending out to the motorsports world, and is not positive for India's image when questions are raised about it" (CRASH, 8/9). ... Malaysia Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin "has taken a swipe" at the organizers of the Malaysia-Barcelona friendly and the FA of Malaysia "for the last minute switch of venues for the game." In a succession of tweets from his account @khairykj, Khairy claimed that the organizer wanted to maximize ticket sales at the expense of pitch conditions "while FAM and Barcelona should have been more hands-on in field inspection" (THE STAR, 8/11).
