Second Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld President JÖRG ZILLIES "has resigned from his position." The 66-year-old said, "The decision to step down is solely based on private and personal reasons." Zillies "took over as president in Sept. '11 after the club was relegated to the 3rd League, which led to financial problems." Club VP HANS-JÜRGEN LAUFER "will become the club's interim president" (SID, 7/15). ... Puma has appointed TORSTEN HOCHSTETTER as global creative director. Based in Herzogenaurach, Hochstetter will be responsible for designing, creating and developing the Sport Performance and Sport Lifestyle collections of the brand, touching on all product categories, including footwear, apparel and accessories. Hochstetter will work with Puma respective design teams worldwide (Puma). ... Nigeria IOC representative HABU GUMEL has been re-elected the treasurer-general of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa. Gumel, regarded as "Nigeria's Ambassador" to the IOC, "was returned unopposed after two other candidates from Mali and Botswana pulled out of the election" (ALL AFRICA, 7/13). ... South Korean sports administrator CHOUE CHUNG-WON on Sunday "earned a fourth term" as the int'l taekwondo chief. World Taekwondo Federation "retained Choue as its president for another four-year term." No election was held as Choue "was the sole candidate for the position" (YONHAP, 7/14). ... KOOH Sports named former English footballer PAUL MASEFIELD technical director of KOOH Sports Football Development Centres. Masefield "will be assisting KOOH Sports football experts in deployment of the football program across the country" (INDIAN BUSINESS STANDARD, 7/15). ... Former New Zealand hockey CEO HILARY POOLE "has been appointed as Netball New Zealand's" CEO. Poole replaces the long-serving RAELENE CASTLE, who has taken up the CEO position at the National Rugby League Canterbury Bulldogs club in Sydney (NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 7/15). ... The Kontinental Hockey League Players' Union officially announced that ANDREI KOVALENKO is to stay on for another five-year term as its chairman (KHL).
