American Sports Lawyer Richard Young Joins Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority Inquiry

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority said that Colorado-based sports lawyer Richard Young, the world's leading anti-doping prosecutor, "had been enlisted to help the doping watchdog on an ongoing basis as it prepares to enter the fifth month of its investigation without a scalp and with no conclusive end in sight," according to Chris Barrett of the SYDNEY MORNING HERALD. An ASADA spokesperson said, "We confirm that ASADA has engaged Richard Young to assist us in our investigation." Young, who led the pursuit and sealed the downfall of Lance Armstrong and prosecuted a string of other high-profile cases, "has been enlisted by Australian anti-doping officials to move their own investigation towards a successful conclusion" (SMH, 5/28).
