Honda's F1 Return In '15 Has No Effect On World Touring Car Championship Involvement

Japanese car manufacturer Honda recently announced its return to F1 as McLaren's engine supplier starting in '15, however the comeback "has no effect on Honda's World Touring Car Championship involvement," according to Stefan Ziegler of MOTORSPORT TOTAL. Honda Motorsport Dir William de Braekeleer said, "We won't stop our WTCC involvement just because we return to F1. We are still very determined to win the championship. That's the goal." He added that the F1 project could "only be positive" for it. De Braekeleer: "It is the same technology. Both series use turbo engines with direct injection. I think both projects will profit for each other" (MOTORSPORT TOTAL, 5/27).
