F1 team Mercedes AMG Petronas has reached an agreement with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes for British motor racing engineer PADDY LOWE to join the team on June 3. Lowe will assume the title of exec director and work closely with Team Principal ROSS BRAWN, Exec Dir TOTO WOLFF and the team's senior technical management (Mercedes AMG Petronas). ... League Two Port Vale FC CEO PAUL WILDES has "stood down" and previous CEO NORMAN SMURTHWAITE became chairman and owner of the club (THIS IS STAFFORDSHIRE, 5/18). ... Korean Air Int'l Table Tennis Organization Chair CHO YANG-HO has been appointed special advisor of finance and marketing. Cho will assist the ITTF in "securing financing and revenue sources" (KOREA TIMES, 5/19).

COACHES: Serie A Napoli coach WALTER MAZZARRI has quit following a runner-up finish (ESPN, 5/20). ... La Liga Real Sociedad coach PHILIPPE MONTANIER is leaving to coach in France. Montanier will head to Ligue 1 Rennes, where he will sign a three-year deal worth more money than his current contract (AS, 5/20). ... Portuguese club Sporting has named LEONARDO JARDIM as its sixth coach in more than two years. Jardim, who unexpectedly parted company with Greek club Olympiacos, is replacing JESUALDO FERREIRA, who "failed to secure the target of a Europa League spot for the Lisbon club" (EUROSPORT, 5/20). ... Former Real Madrid player ROBERTO CARLOS has "agreed to coach" Turkish Super League Sivasspor. Sivasspor offered the coaching job to Carlos after RIZA CALIMBAY quit (XINHUA, 5/19).
