Event Notes: Former World No. 1 Roger Federer To Visit Chile In December

Roger Federer will visit Chile, Argentina and Colombia for exhibitions in December. Argentinian producer Imagen Deportiva "will be in charge of the sporting event" (EMOL, 5/15). ... Barcelona confirmed Wednesday that the club will begin its '13-14 preseason campaign "with a friendly in Poland on July 20." Barcelona will follow that game with contests in Germany against Bayern Munich on July 24 and in Oslo, Norway on July 27 against Valarenga. Club spokesperson Toni Freixa said the opponent and venue for the July 20 game will "only be announced in the coming days" (FOOTBALL ESPAÑA, 5/15). ... The incoming host of year-ending WTA Championships from next year, Singapore, could probably generate incremental tourism receipts of about S$15M ($12.1M) each year (XINHUA, 5/13).
