Sky Deutschland Extends Media Rights Contracts With Golf Majors Until '15

German pay-TV channel Sky Deutschland "will continue to have the most comprehensive golf coverage on German TV as it extended its media rights with three of the four majors until '15," according to Manuel Weis of QUOTENMETER. The network "extended its contracts with the U.S. Open, The Open Championship and the PGA Championship until '15." In addition, Sky will exclusively show the U.S. PGA Tour (until '15) as well as the European Tour and Ryder Cup (both until '14) on German TV. Sky Sports Dir Burkhard Weber said, "The U.S. Open, The Open Championship and the PGA Championship are three of the most important events on the golf calendar. We are glad that we will be able to continue to show those tournaments" (QUOTENMETER, 5/9).
