Media Notes: Sky Sport News HD To Launch New App For Football Season

German pay-TV channel Sky Sport News HD "will launch a new app with the start of the new football season in the summer." The app "will be a combination for free accessible and paid content." It "will include an audio and video livestream, as well as highlight clips, short reports, alert services and a data center, which will provide fans with background information and statistics" (DWDL, 5/6). ... Spain's Youth Champions Cup will take place starting Monday in Vigo in front of the cameras of MARCA TV and MARCA.com. Sevilla will look to defend the title it earned last season in a tournament "in which many great football players have participated." MARCA TV and MARCA.com will televise most of the games live. The "single-elimination format of the event adds excitement" to the tournament, which has been played since '96 (MARCA, 5/6).
