Sportsnet Secures Rights To European Qualifiers For Euro 2016, 2018 World Cup

Canadian sports media brand Sportsnet announced it has secured the Canadian multimedia rights to all European qualification matches for both UEFA Euro 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup for a total of more than 500 matches over the next four years. The agreement includes a comprehensive suite of multimedia rights for TV, online and mobile, featuring 258 European qualification matches for Euro 2016 beginning in Sept. '14, as well as 258 European qualification matches for the 2018 World Cup beginning Sept. '16. The agreement marks the sixth premium football rights acquisition secured by the multiplatform sports media brand in the past year. Sportsnet has announced multi-year, multiplatform rights agreements for the Europa League, Champions League, 2014 World Cup qualifying and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, EPL and CONCACAF (Sportsnet).
