Serie A Juventus coach ANTONIO CONTE "has predicted a long wait before another Italian team wins the Champions League." Conte said, "Today, I see teams like Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Paris St. Germain and Barcelona, clubs who have a lot of money, they can buy all the top players and in Italy the situation is different. I can't see an Italian team winning the Champions League in the coming years" (REUTERS, 4/11). ... Brazilian 2014 World Cup organizers said that RONALDO "will remain in his role with the organizing committee despite moving to London to study advertising." Committee Commnunications Dir SAINT-CLAIR MILESI said that "Ronaldo is a volunteer and will contribute despite being away from Brazil in the next few months" (AP, 4/11). ... Red Bull F1 driver SEBASTIAN VETTEL "intensified the bad feelings" between himself and teammate MARK WEBBER on Thursday, claiming that "the Australian hurt the team in the past and thus did not deserve consideration in the Malaysian Grand Prix team orders affair." Vettel claimed that "his decision to ignore team orders and pass Webber in the closing stages of the Malaysian race was 'indirectly' related to past incidents when he felt Webber went against the best interests of their Formula One team" (THE NATIONAL, 4/11). ... Saudi Arabia’s HAFEZ AL MEDLEJ "has rejected reports he has withdrawn from the race for the presidency of the Asian Football Confederation and has instead put himself forward as a candidate for West Asia to unite behind" (SOCCEREX, 4/11). ... Chelsea FC Chair BRUCE BUCK spoke Wednesday about Chelsea's upcoming coaching change at the end of the season. Buck did not mention any names. However, when asked about former Chelsea and current Real Madrid Coach JOSE MOURINHO, he said, "I am open to the possibility. The search has not even begun. We are thinking on it and we have some ideas. Mr. [Owner ROMAN] ABRAMOVICH is thinking on it, but at the moment we are concentrated on the end of the season" (AS, 4/11).
