Super Middleweight Boxing Bout Records Top Ratings On ARD; F1 Quali Strong On RTL

German pulic broadcaster ARD "recorded strong ratings for the broadcast of Saturday's super middleweight fight between Arthur Abraham and Robert Stieglitz," according to David Grzeschik of QUOTEN METER. A total of 4.2 million viewers tuned in at 11:30pm German time. The number translated into a very strong 21.7% market share. In the target demographic 14-49, Stieglitz's TKO victory after only three rounds was watched by 830,000 viewers, which equaled a 10.9% share (QUOTEN METER, 3/24).

MALAYSIAN MORNINGS: QUOTEN METER's Grzeschik also reported German free-to-air TV channel RTL received top ratings for its broadcast of the F1 qualifying session from Sepang, Malaysia. The session attracted 1.3 million viewers at 8:30am German time. The fight for the pole position, which was won by Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel, recorded a 22.2% market share (QUOTEN METER, 3/24).

FOOTBALL RATINGS: TELELOCURA reported Spain free-to-air channel Telecinco's broadcast of the World Cup qualifying clash between Spain and Finland "surpassed 6 million viewers" and had a 36.7% market share. The game finished in a 1-1 draw (TELELOCURA, 3/23). LE PARISIEN reported free-to-air channel TF1's broadcast of the World Cup qualifying game between France and Georgia pulled in 7.1 million viewers and a 29% market share. France won the match 3-1 (LE PARISIEN, 3/23).
