Media Notes: ECB Announces New Broadcast Deal With BBC

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the BBC announced a new broadcast partnership for county cricket, with live ball-by-ball commentary of every LV= County Championship match available throughout the season, plus all Yorkshire Bank 40 and Friends Life t20 matches. Starting with the opening of the LV= County Championship the commentaries will broadcast via BBC online streams, which will be hosted on the BBC Sport website and promoted on BBC Local Radio websites, the ECB website and county cricket websites (ECB). ... The German Tennis Association (DTB) "has agreed to a new partnership with media company ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG as the organization's new media partner." The DTB signed a "long-term strategic corporation" with the company. The organization "is expecting a noticeably increased TV presence of its sport, especially of its Davis Cup and Fed Cup matches" (DPA, 3/21). ... SportAccord, the organization representing Olympic and non-Olympic int'l sports federations and organizations, has announced an exclusive partnership with the global communications firm Burson-Marsteller. The alliance means Burson-Marsteller will become SportAccord’s exclusive communications advisor, and will support the strengthening of the SportAccord brand and offerings including SportAccord Multi-Sports Games and .sport.  The firm will also be the recommended service provider to SportAccord’s 107 member organizations (SportAccord).
