Event Notes: Volvo Ocean Race Will Include Chinese Stop On '14-15 Schedule

The southern Chinese city of Sanya "will be included on the next edition of the Volvo Ocean Race" in '14-15, which features a round-the-world team sailing event spread over a series of legs. It "will be the third time the race, which takes place every three years, includes a stop in China" after Qingdao in '08-09 and Sanya again in '11-12 (AFP, 3/14). ... Taiyuan "will host the 4th World University Dragon Boat Racing Championship during the Dragon Boat Festival in June." Around 1,000 competitors from 50-60 dragon boat teams, including Harvard University and other nine universities among the top 100 universities in the world, "will take part in the tournament" (XINHUA, 3/17).
