Ecclestone Says Valencia, Barcelona Will Alternate As Hosts Of Spanish Grand Prix

Valencian regional government President Alberto Fabra "has confirmed" that he met with Formula 1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone to make a deal to hold the Spanish F1 Grand Prix in Valencia every two years, according to Pedro Blasco of EL MUNDO. Pending endorsement from Catalonia regional government President Artur Mas, the agreement would allow the race to be held in Valencia on even numbered years and in Barcelona on odd ones. Fabra made the announcement after meeting in Madrid with Madrid community President Ignacio Gonzáles, "with whom he co-signed a requirement for a new system of autonomous financing" (EL MUNDO 3/13).
