Heart Of Midlothian Considers Legal Action Against Scottish Television

Scottish Premier League club Heart of Midlothian is "considering legal action" against Scottish Television after the broadcaster claimed on its website that staff at Tynecastle had been told that the club "could go into administration," according to Stuart Bathgate of the SCOTSMAN. Hearts “vehemently refuted” the claim in a strongly worded statement on its own website, and suggested the story was an attempt to “destabilise” the club. A club spokesperson said, “There has been no staff meeting. Staff have not been informed the club could go into administration. As far as the club is concerned, this story is lacking in any foundation.” A member of Hearts staff went further on his Twitter account, saying the STV story was “utter, unadulterated horses***" (SCOTSMAN, 3/6).

TYNECASTLE CONFUSION: In Glasgow, Gary Ralston wrote "confusion reigns" at Tynecastle after Owner Vladimir Romanov and right-hand man Sergejus Fedotovas resigned from UBIG, which holds a majority share holding in the club. Fedotovas attempted to reassure fans by declaring it is "business as usual and the club is in no danger of going under." He said, “Changes at UBIG board do not reflect any changes in the holding structure of Mr Romanov’s ownership" (DAILY RECORD, 3/6).
