WINTER WONDERLAND: DWDL's Krei also reported German public broadcaster ARD "recorded once again top ratings with its winter sports broadcasts." On Sunday morning, the women's biathlon mass start race attracted 3.68 million viewers. The number equaled a strong market share of 26.7%. The following men's mass start race was watched by 3.77 million viewers and recorded a 22.8% market share. In addition, the women's Super-G race, which started at 12:14pm German time, tied 3.38 million viewers to their TV sets. The number translated into a 23.3% share (DWDL, 3/4).
FAST BREAK FAILURE: DWDL's Krei also reported German private TV channel kabel eins "received low ratings" for its broadcast of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) game between Bayern Munich and Brose Baskets Bamberg. Only 190,000 viewers tuned in to watch the first quarter of the game. The market shares were 1.3% overall and 1.9% in the target demographic. The viewership slightly increased during the course of the game to 270,000 in the fourth quarter. The number equaled a 2.5% share (DWDL, 3/4).
