Russian Club Zenit St. Petersburg, German Airline Lufthansa Talking Sponsorship

Russian champion Zenit St. Petersburg is "holding talks about reviving an old sponsorship agreement with Lufthansa," according to R-SPORT. The news was revealed by Lufthansa regional head Ronald Schulz. Lufthansa was one of Zenit’s sponsors between '09 and '10, but was not featured on the team’s shirt. Schulz said, "Now we are discussing our possible cooperation. It’s very interesting, but we should understand how we can be useful for each other in this sense." Schulz added that the new deal "could be different to the old agreement." He declined to discuss specifics. Schulz: "Our relations were even, as partners, now we are discussing various conditions that could be different from what went before." Zenit and Lufthansa representatives met Tuesday and "will resume discussions" March 19 in Moscow (R-SPORT, 2/20)
