Dubai Pro-League Club Al Nasr To Receive $6M In Damages From Former Player, Club

UAE Pro-League Al Nasr is due €4.5M ($6.1M) in compensation after its former player Esmail Bangoura was ruled to "have breached his contract" with the Dubai club when he joined French Ligue 2 side Nantes in Jan. '12, according to GULF NEWS. FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber ruled that Nantes "induced Bangoura to commit a breach of his contract and have barred the club from registering new players for one year" until Jan. 31, 2014. FIFA has also suspended the 28-year-old Guinean striker Bangoura for four months, "although he’s already served three months of that ban." Nantes and Bangoura are now "jointly liable" to pay Al Nasr the €4.5M in compensation plus 5% interest. They can appeal the decision (GULF NEWS, 2/4)
