Olympic Stadium May Be Cut From List Of Venues Available for '15 Rugby World Cup

London 2012 legacy officials "have two weeks to resolve the future" of the Olympic Stadium or it will be cut as a potential venue for the 2015 Rugby World Cup, according to Ashling O'Connor of the LONDON TIMES. The England Rugby 2015 board will meet on March 5, "when a full match schedule for the 10 to 12 chosen venues must be finalised for approval" by the Int'l Rugby Board 10 days later. The IRB is keen to include the Olympic Stadium, "but not at the expense of the smooth running of the 48-match tournament." ER 2015 is "close to whittling down its list of 17," but there are complications. The Olympic stadium is just one. RWC organisers also "have to agree terms with the Premier League for use of its football grounds" (LONDON TIMES, 2/4).
